Choosing Your Compound Bow

Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Bear…so many brands…so many styles! Just how is a girl to decide? Well, ladies, there is just one rule to follow when it comes to picking out your bow!! And that rule is:

Try It Before You Buy It!!!!!

There is so much more to picking out the right bow than just taking someone’s advice or picking one that you like the looks of! You will be the one shooting the bow, so you need to try it out before you buy it!!! I remember picking out my bow, and I sure didn’t end up with the one I had planned on.

I had been looking at bows for a while and there were several that I was interested in. I had even come close to buying one without trying any out. Luckily my husband and I attended a deer and turkey expo where there were numerous vendors set up to sell bows. I was able to get an up close look at many different brands and styles. Even better, Shoot Like A Girl was on hand with a wide variety of bows available for trying out. I immediately went to the bow that looked the best to me, but I was quickly disappointed. So, next I went to the brand I was thinking about buying, but also found I didn’t care much for the bows I tried. So I just continued on to try out every bow they had. I kept going back to one particular bow over and over. I compared every other bow I picked up to this particular bow. It wasn’t the prettiest, in fact, it wasn’t even a bow designed for women. But, it was the one that fit me the best; it just felt right! I am so glad that I took the time to test out a lot of the different options, and I recommend that you do the same thing!! I guess it’s kind of like picking out your wedding dress; when you find the right one, you just know!
